Our client is seeking a highly qualified associate with at least two years of experience to join its Project Development & Finance practice in New York City. The team advises project lenders and sponsors on complex financings across industrial sectors and geographies, drawing on global resources and industry-focused experience.
The Work
- Assist with project finance matters representing lenders and sponsors, gaining exposure to the perspectives and objectives of both sides of a transaction.
- Help assess proposed transactions for potential pitfalls, issues, and opportunities, and contribute to developing practical solutions at the outset of matters.
- Contribute to structuring project financings that support sponsors’ ongoing commercial objectives and provide lenders with appropriate value and security.
- Work on financing matters involving energy transition and a range of industrial sectors and geographies, in coordination with regulatory and industry-focused colleagues around the world.
- Support the execution of complex project finance transactions, including work to position lender transactions for successful syndication.
- Engage with a high-volume practice that regularly executes more than 100 project financings annually, with aggregate value in the billions of dollars.
What You Bring
- At least two years of legal experience; the position is intended for a mid-level associate.
- Experience with project development and/or project finance is preferred.
- Experience at a large national or international law firm is preferred.
- Knowledge of project finance transactions and the interests of project lenders and sponsors.
- Ability to contribute to analyzing transaction issues and opportunities and developing financing structures and solutions.
- Ability to work on complex, cross-border or multi-jurisdictional matters with regulatory and industry-focused colleagues.
