Position overview

Our client is seeking an associate with at least two years of experience to join its New York team focused on Latin America. The role offers exposure to cross-border finance and M&A matters across the region and is particularly suited to candidates with project finance and M&A experience.

The Work

  • Contribute to project financings involving Latin American markets, working on significant cross-border matters across the region.
  • Assist with M&A transactions involving companies and assets connected to Latin America, including matters for private equity firms with regional portfolios and multinational businesses with local subsidiaries.
  • Support cross-border capital markets work for local companies raising debt or equity capital internationally.
  • Work on transactions involving a range of market participants, including global financial institutions, local companies, multinational businesses, private equity firms, and governments seeking to privatize assets.
  • Collaborate on matters spanning multiple Latin American jurisdictions, drawing on the practice’s regional insight and the reach of a global platform.

What You Bring

  • At least two years of relevant legal experience.
  • Experience in project finance and/or M&A; a combination of both is especially desirable.
  • Experience or a strong interest in cross-border transactional work involving Latin America.
  • Ability to contribute to sophisticated finance or M&A matters involving multiple parties and jurisdictions.
  • Spanish and/or Portuguese fluency is preferred.

Compensation & Benefits

The supplied base compensation estimate is approximately $235,000 and is not a firm-stated range; discretionary bonuses may be available depending on application circumstances and position.
