Position overview

Our client is seeking an associate with at least two years of experience to join its Washington, D.C. Latin America Practice. The opportunity is designed for a lawyer with project finance experience, M&A experience, or ideally a combination of both, and is aligned with the 3rd- to 5th-year associate class.

The Work

  • Contribute to cross-border project finance matters involving Latin America, working with a practice that advises clients on significant and sophisticated transactions in the region.
  • Support M&A transactions involving Latin American businesses and assets, including matters for private equity firms with regional portfolios and multinational companies with local subsidiaries.
  • Work on capital markets matters for local companies raising debt or equity capital internationally, as well as matters involving global financial institutions active in the region.
  • Engage with a broad range of regional market participants, including governments pursuing privatizations, local companies, private equity firms, multinationals, and financial institutions.
  • Collaborate on matters shaped by the commercial dynamics and business practices of Latin American jurisdictions, drawing on the practice’s regional ties and global platform.

What You Bring

  • At least two years of legal experience, with an associate profile aligned to the 3rd- to 5th-year class.
  • Experience in project finance; this is a key area of interest for the practice.
  • M&A experience; a combination of project finance and M&A experience is ideal.
  • Interest or experience in cross-border transactions involving Latin America.
  • Spanish and/or Portuguese fluency is preferred.
