Our client is seeking an associate with at least three years of experience in complex real estate transactions to join a corporate real estate practice in New York City. The practice represents a diverse range of clients in the United States and internationally, with work spanning investment, development, acquisitions, dispositions, mergers and acquisitions, and financing.
The Work
- Advise on complex real estate acquisitions and dispositions, including transactions involving individual properties and portfolios.
- Work on joint ventures and development projects, supporting clients and partners through the structuring, negotiation, and execution of transactions.
- Handle real estate M&A matters and related corporate work for real estate operating companies and investors.
- Contribute to real estate financing transactions, including matters involving construction, mortgage, and mezzanine financing.
- Support clients across a range of asset classes and sectors, including hospitality and healthcare.
- Work with attorneys across offices and practice areas to coordinate resources and address the legal and commercial dimensions of real estate transactions.
- Represent a diverse client base that includes private equity and investment funds, public and private real estate operating companies, development partners, REITs, financial institutions, and other institutional investors.
What You Bring
- At least three years of experience handling complex real estate transactions.
- Experience with joint ventures, real estate development projects, acquisitions, and dispositions.
- Experience with real estate M&A and financing transactions.
- Strong drafting skills and the ability to prepare and analyze transaction documents.
- Strong analytical and organizational skills and the ability to manage transaction work effectively.
- An understanding of the business considerations involved in real estate investing.
- Ability to collaborate with attorneys and clients across offices, disciplines, and jurisdictions.
