Our client is seeking an associate with at least three years of experience to join its San Diego real estate practice. The work encompasses complex transactions for a broad range of real estate investors, operating companies, developers, lenders, and institutional clients in the United States and internationally.
The Work
- Advise on acquisitions and dispositions of individual properties and portfolios, supporting transactions from initial structuring through negotiation and completion.
- Work on real estate development projects and joint ventures, helping document the arrangements among investors, developers, and operating partners.
- Contribute to real estate mergers and acquisitions and other corporate transactions involving real estate businesses and assets.
- Support financing transactions, including construction, mortgage, and mezzanine financing, as well as other real estate debt matters.
- Collaborate with attorneys across practice areas and offices to address the corporate, finance, and other dimensions of complex real estate deals.
- Work with clients that include private equity and investment funds, public and private real estate operating companies, development partners, REITs, financial institutions, and other institutional investors.
- Gain exposure to hospitality and healthcare matters and a range of asset classes, including data centers, industrial, mixed-use, multifamily, office, and retail.
What You Bring
- At least three years of experience handling complex real estate transactions.
- Experience with real estate joint ventures, development projects, acquisitions, and dispositions.
- Experience with real estate M&A and financing transactions.
- Strong drafting skills, including the ability to prepare and analyze transaction documents.
- Strong analytical and organizational skills and attention to detail.
- A sound understanding of the business considerations involved in real estate investing.
- Ability to collaborate with attorneys across offices and disciplines on complex matters.
- Experience serving a range of real estate investors, companies, developers, or financial institutions is relevant to the practice.
