Our client is seeking a real estate associate with at least two years of experience to join its growing Chicago practice. The role offers work across complex transactions and welcomes attorneys with meaningful experience in one or more areas of real estate, including commercial leasing.
The Work
- Advise on acquisitions and dispositions of real estate assets, contributing to transaction analysis, documentation, and execution.
- Support joint ventures and development projects, working on the arrangements and agreements that structure real estate investments and projects.
- Work on real estate financings for institutional investors, real estate companies, and other sophisticated market participants.
- Contribute to real estate M&A matters involving real estate operating companies and investment platforms.
- Handle commercial leasing matters; associates with substantial leasing experience are of particular interest.
- Participate in leasing and development work involving data centers, build-to-suit transactions, and other specialized commercial arrangements where relevant experience is available.
- Collaborate with attorneys in Chicago and across offices on complex matters involving a range of major real estate asset classes.
What You Bring
- At least two years of legal experience, with approximately 2–4 years preferred for this search.
- Meaningful experience in one or more areas such as real estate acquisitions, dispositions, joint ventures, development, financing, M&A, or commercial leasing.
- Strong drafting skills and the ability to work with complex real estate transaction documents.
- Sound analytical abilities and strong organizational skills.
- Commercial leasing experience is especially relevant; data center leasing, build-to-suit transactions, or other specialized leasing experience is particularly valued.
- Ability to contribute effectively in a collaborative team environment.
- Experience at an in-house legal department or boutique or mid-sized firm may be relevant to attorneys seeking to move to a global platform.

Estimated base compensation is $235,000–$310,000; this is an estimate and not a firm-stated range.
