Position overview

Our client is seeking a Real Estate Associate with at least three years of experience in complex real estate transactions to join its Los Angeles practice. The group represents a diverse range of U.S. and international market participants, including investors, developers, financial institutions, and institutional real estate companies.

The Work

  • Work on complex real estate transactions involving acquisitions, dispositions, development projects, joint ventures, and real estate mergers and acquisitions.
  • Assist with transaction financing matters, which may include construction, mortgage, and mezzanine financing, as well as securitization and mortgage debt portfolio acquisitions and financings.
  • Contribute to matters for private equity and investment funds, public and private real estate operating companies, development partners, REITs, financial institutions, and other institutional investors.
  • Support transactions across a varied range of property types and sectors, including hospitality and healthcare, as well as industrial, data center, mixed-use, multifamily, office, and retail assets.
  • Collaborate with attorneys in Los Angeles and across the broader practice, working on matters that may involve clients and transactions in the United States and internationally.
  • Apply commercial judgment and an understanding of real estate investing while developing transaction documents and helping advance complex matters.

What You Bring

  • At least three years of experience handling complex real estate transactions.
  • Experience with real estate joint ventures and development projects.
  • Experience with real estate acquisitions and dispositions.
  • Experience with real estate mergers and acquisitions and financing transactions.
  • Strong legal drafting skills and the ability to analyze complex transactional issues.
  • Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage detailed work across complex matters.
  • An understanding of the business considerations involved in real estate investing.
  • Experience serving clients in hospitality or healthcare is relevant to the practice.
