Position overview

Our client is seeking a highly qualified associate with at least four years of mergers and acquisitions and/or private equity experience to join its mid-level or senior associate ranks in Los Angeles. The practice advises clients on transactions ranging from routine engagements to complex, transformational deals, and supports private equity clients from initial investment through exit.

The Work

  • Contribute to M&A and private equity transactions across the deal lifecycle, including matters from initial investment through exit.
  • Work on sophisticated cross-border carve-outs, tax-free spinoffs, and multibillion-dollar going-private transactions.
  • Support private equity firms and portfolio companies in pursuing transaction objectives and maximizing value.
  • Participate in matters involving shareholder activism, antitrust challenges, and changing regulatory requirements.
  • Draw on related capabilities in capital markets, leveraged finance, tax, and executive compensation to support transaction work.
  • Work with teams advising clients across a range of industries and transaction types, including growth equity, large-cap, and middle-market private equity.

What You Bring

  • At least four years of experience in mergers and acquisitions and/or private equity.
  • Substantive experience working on M&A or private equity transactions.
  • Experience or interest spanning transaction stages from investment through exit.
  • Ability to contribute to sophisticated transactions, including cross-border matters, carve-outs, spinoffs, or going-private deals.
  • Understanding of the commercial and regulatory considerations that can affect M&A and private equity transactions.
  • Ability to work with colleagues across related practice areas to address client transaction needs.
