Position overview

Our client is seeking a corporate associate with at least two years of experience in mergers and acquisitions and private equity transactions to join its third- through sixth-year associate class in Chicago. The practice advises clients on transactions ranging from private equity investments through exits and complex strategic M&A.

The Work

  • Contribute to M&A and private equity deal teams advising clients on transactions across the deal lifecycle, from initial investment through exit.
  • Work on sophisticated cross-border carve-outs and tax-free spin-offs, supporting the execution of complex transaction structures.
  • Assist with multi-billion-dollar going-private transactions and other complex or transformational M&A matters.
  • Support private equity firms and their portfolio companies on transactions intended to advance strategic and business objectives.
  • Engage with matters that may involve shareholder activism, antitrust challenges, or dynamic regulatory environments as part of the broader M&A practice.
  • Work within a platform that brings together M&A, private equity finance, fund formation, and capital markets capabilities for client matters.

What You Bring

  • At least two years of experience in mergers and acquisitions transactions.
  • At least two years of experience in private equity transactions.
  • Experience appropriate to consideration for the third- through sixth-year associate class.
  • A strong background in corporate transactional work and the ability to contribute to M&A and private equity matters.
