Our client is seeking an M&A associate with a minimum of two full years of experience to join its Chicago team in a third- through sixth-year associate class. The practice advises companies and investors on strategic acquisitions and a broad range of transactions, from routine engagements to complex, transformational deals.
The Work
- Represent companies in strategic acquisitions, contributing to transaction execution and helping advance client business objectives.
- Work with deal teams to identify and address transaction challenges and develop practical, commercially focused solutions for clients.
- Participate in matters spanning routine M&A engagements and complex, transformational transactions.
- Gain exposure to cross-border carve-outs, tax-free spin-offs, and multi-billion-dollar going-private transactions as part of the broader M&A platform.
- Support private equity clients and portfolio companies across the investment lifecycle, including transactions from initial investment through exit.
- Coordinate with related practice capabilities, which may include capital markets, leveraged finance, and tax advice, to support clients’ transaction needs.
What You Bring
- At least two full years of experience practicing mergers and acquisitions law.
- Experience representing companies in M&A transactions.
- Experience with strategic acquisitions.
- Ability to contribute to transaction execution and work through deal-related challenges.
- A client-focused approach to developing practical and commercially minded advice.
- Interest or experience in complex, transformational, or cross-border transactions is relevant to the work of the practice.
