Position overview

Our client is seeking an M&A associate with at least two full years of experience representing companies in mergers and acquisitions, particularly strategic acquisitions. Based in San Francisco, this opportunity offers work within a globally connected practice handling transactions from routine matters to complex, transformational deals.

The Work

  • Represent company clients in strategic acquisitions, helping advance transactions in line with their business objectives.
  • Contribute to M&A matters across a range of complexity, from routine engagements to transformational transactions.
  • Work through transaction challenges and help develop practical solutions in a changing global business and regulatory environment.
  • Participate in matters involving cross-border carve-outs, tax-free spin-offs, and multibillion-dollar going-private transactions.
  • Support clients addressing shareholder activism, antitrust challenges, and dynamic regulatory requirements.
  • Draw on related capabilities including capital markets, executive compensation, leveraged finance, and tax advice as transaction needs require.

What You Bring

  • At least two full years of mergers and acquisitions experience.
  • Experience representing companies in M&A matters, particularly strategic acquisitions.
  • Ability to contribute to transaction execution and work toward clients’ commercial objectives.
  • Sound judgment in identifying and working through transaction challenges.
  • Interest or experience in matters involving complex or cross-border transactions is valuable.
  • Familiarity with antitrust issues or changing regulatory regimes is relevant to the practice.
