Position overview

Our client is seeking a corporate M&A associate to join its Washington, D.C. practice. The opportunity is intended for attorneys with at least two full years of mergers and acquisitions experience, specifically representing companies and advising on strategic acquisitions.

The Work

  • Contribute to company-side mergers and acquisitions, supporting clients as they pursue strategic business objectives.
  • Work on a range of transactions, from routine M&A engagements to complex and transformational deals.
  • Support sophisticated transaction work across the broader platform, including cross-border carve-outs, tax-free spinoffs, and going-private transactions.
  • Help clients address shareholder activism and navigate antitrust challenges and evolving regulatory requirements that may affect transactions.
  • Collaborate across related capabilities, including capital markets, leveraged finance, tax, and executive compensation, as matters require.

What You Bring

  • At least two full years of experience practicing mergers and acquisitions law.
  • Specific experience representing companies in M&A matters.
  • Experience advising on strategic acquisitions.
  • Background appropriate for consideration within the 3rd–6th-year associate class.
