Our client is seeking an Investment Funds associate to join its New York team, with at least three years of experience in liquidity transactions, secondaries markets, and related fund operational matters. The position is within the practice’s 4th- through 6th-year associate class.
The Work
- Advise fund sponsors on liquidity transactions, working across the structuring and execution of transactions and related fund operational matters.
- Work on continuation fund transactions, helping sponsors navigate a key liquidity option for existing portfolio investments.
- Represent clients in fund recapitalizations and traditional limited partner portfolio sales.
- Advise on fund-level and GP-level preferred equity investments, including transactions tailored to fund and sponsor needs.
- Work on investments in firm sponsors as part of a broad range of private capital liquidity solutions.
- Support sponsor clients ranging from established global private equity and asset management firms to emerging buyout, venture, and credit fund managers.
- Contribute to secondary transactions involving sponsors and strategic investors across a range of private capital structures.
What You Bring
- At least three years of legal experience in liquidity transactions, secondaries markets, and related fund operational matters.
- Experience advising fund sponsors on private capital transactions.
- Knowledge of continuation funds, recapitalizations, and traditional LP portfolio sales.
- Experience with fund-level or GP-level preferred equity investments is relevant to the practice.
- Ability to work across varied transaction structures, including investments in firm sponsors.
- Experience supporting clients in the private funds market, including established managers or emerging buyout, venture, or credit fund sponsors.
