Our client is seeking an associate with at least three years of experience in investment funds liquidity transactions and the secondaries market to join its Chicago corporate practice. The position is intended for an associate in the fourth- through sixth-year class and focuses on advising fund sponsors on complex liquidity matters and related fund operational issues.
The Work
- Advise fund sponsors on liquidity transactions, participating in the structuring and execution of matters across the private capital market.
- Work on continuation fund transactions and fund recapitalizations, addressing the transaction needs of sponsors and investors.
- Support traditional limited partner portfolio sales, including matters involving secondary-market transfers of fund interests.
- Advise on fund-level and general-partner-level preferred equity investments and related liquidity structures.
- Work on investments in firm sponsors and related fund operational matters for clients operating across global markets.
- Contribute to a practice that represents sponsors and strategic investors across a range of secondary transactions.
What You Bring
- At least three years of experience in investment funds liquidity transactions, secondaries markets, and related fund operational matters.
- Experience advising or working with fund sponsors on private capital transactions.
- Familiarity with continuation funds, recapitalizations, or traditional LP portfolio sales.
- Experience with fund-level or GP-level preferred equity investments is relevant to the work.
- Ability to contribute to complex transactional matters and support fund sponsor clients across the life of a matter.
- Experience in the fourth- through sixth-year associate class is consistent with the position’s stated target class.
