Our client is seeking an Investment Funds Associate in Chicago with at least three years of experience in private investment fund formation and related operational matters. The position offers the opportunity to advise fund sponsors on a broad range of private capital matters as part of a global practice.
The Work
- Advise fund sponsors on the structuring and formation of private investment funds across a broad spectrum of asset classes.
- Support fundraising processes and related fund documentation, working on matters for both established managers and emerging sponsors.
- Counsel clients on internal sponsor arrangements and co-investment structures as part of their broader private capital activities.
- Advise on fund operations and ongoing corporate, regulatory, and compliance matters throughout the fund lifecycle.
- Assist with complex or novel regulatory issues affecting asset managers and their funds.
- Contribute to secondary transactions involving fund sponsors and strategic investors.
What You Bring
- At least three years of experience in private investment fund formation and related fund operational matters.
- Experience advising on the structuring and fundraising of private investment funds.
- Knowledge of fund documentation and the legal issues associated with private investment vehicles.
- Experience handling fund operations, sponsor arrangements, co-investments, or regulatory and compliance matters.
- Ability to manage assigned workstreams and communicate effectively with fund sponsor clients and deal teams.
- Experience with a range of private capital strategies, including buyout, venture, or credit funds, is relevant to the practice.
