Position overview

Our client is seeking an associate with at least three years of private investment fund formation experience to join its New York City Investment Funds practice. The work encompasses fund structuring and fundraising, as well as related sponsor, operational, regulatory, and compliance matters.

The Work

  • Advise fund sponsors on the structuring and fundraising of private investment funds across a broad spectrum of asset classes.
  • Work on internal sponsor arrangements and co-investments as part of a broad private capital practice.
  • Counsel clients on fund operations and day-to-day corporate, regulatory, and compliance matters affecting asset managers.
  • Address securities, tax, and regulatory considerations involved in forming and structuring private investment vehicles, including complex or novel regulatory issues.
  • Contribute to matters for established global managers and emerging sponsors in the buyout, venture, and credit funds space.
  • Work within a practice that represents sponsors and strategic investors in secondary transactions.

What You Bring

  • At least three years of experience in private investment fund formation.
  • Experience with related fund operational matters.
  • Knowledge of the structuring and fundraising of private investment funds across asset classes.
  • Experience or demonstrated capability in matters involving internal sponsor arrangements and co-investments.
  • Familiarity with regulatory and compliance matters affecting private fund sponsors or asset managers.
  • Ability to work on matters involving securities, tax, and regulatory aspects of private investment vehicles.
