Our client is seeking a corporate associate with at least three years of experience to join its Emerging Companies & Growth practice in New York. The role is intended for an associate in the third- through fifth-year class and offers exposure to companies and investors across the entrepreneurial lifecycle.
The Work
- Advise startups and emerging companies on matters spanning company formation, early-stage growth, equity financings, and strategic planning as the business develops.
- Work with venture capital partners and other institutional investors on financings that support companies at different stages of growth.
- Support financing transactions involving angel and seed investments, growth equity, and structured debt and equity solutions.
- Help companies plan for future liquidity events, including public offerings and other strategic outcomes aligned with their objectives.
- Contribute to matters involving public-market alternatives such as direct listings and deSPACs.
- Work with clients across innovation-driven industries, including technology and its subsectors, biotechnology and life sciences, and next-generation manufacturing.
What You Bring
- At least three years of experience in emerging growth companies, public companies, and/or capital markets.
- Experience advising or representing companies and/or investors in corporate or financing matters relevant to the practice.
- Familiarity with the company lifecycle, including formation, equity or growth financings, and later-stage strategic or liquidity considerations.
- Experience with venture, growth equity, structured debt, or other equity financing structures is relevant to the practice.
- Interest or experience in innovation industries such as technology, biotechnology, life sciences, or next-generation manufacturing.
- Ability to contribute to a collaborative corporate practice serving both emerging companies and their financing partners.
