Our client is seeking an experienced corporate associate to join its Asset Management Transactions practice in Washington, D.C. The opportunity is intended for associates in the fifth- through eighth-year classes, with at least four years of experience in asset management M&A, including GP stakes and control transactions.
The Work
- Structure and execute corporate transactions involving asset managers, investment funds, broker-dealers, financial advisors, and related financial services businesses.
- Advise on full buy-out and control transactions, minority GP stakes investments, and joint ventures involving asset management businesses.
- Work on management team spin-outs, lift-outs, carve-outs, corporate restructurings, separations, and succession planning.
- Handle additional liquidity solutions, including continuation funds, preferred equity, structured and synthetic secondaries, LP portfolio sales, and NAV financings.
- Advise on strip sales and tender offers as part of a broad range of asset management and investment fund transactions.
- Work with a diverse client base that includes asset managers, private equity and GP staking firms, banks, insurance companies, other financial institutions, founders, management teams, and boards.
- Contribute to matters involving investment regulatory, enforcement, and compliance issues, drawing on an interdisciplinary practice and global platform.
What You Bring
- At least four years of experience in asset management mergers and acquisitions.
- Experience with GP stakes and control asset management transactions.
- Background handling corporate transactions involving asset managers, investment funds, or related financial services businesses.
- Experience advising or working with institutional financial clients, founders, management teams, or boards in transactional matters.
- Candidates should be aligned with the fifth- through eighth-year associate classes.
