Our client is seeking a mid-level to senior associate with 4–8 years of experience to join its M&A, Private Equity and Investment Funds teams in New York City. The practice focuses on asset manager M&A, GP stakes, seed investments and related transactions, and offers substantial responsibility and direct client contact.
The Work
- Advise asset managers, sponsors, GP stakes funds and institutional investors on acquisitions and dispositions of asset management businesses.
- Represent investors and companies in minority investments and GP stakes transactions, including negotiating and documenting transaction terms.
- Structure and execute seed investments and revenue-share arrangements for asset management businesses.
- Work on strategic partnerships, joint ventures and other similar transactions, coordinating deal execution through closing.
- Draft transaction documents and manage matters from initial structuring and negotiation through completion.
- Handle general corporate matters for clients and develop direct client relationships through frequent client contact and independent matter management.
What You Bring
- Four to eight years of experience, with candidates at the mid-level to senior associate stage encouraged to apply.
- Significant experience handling M&A transactions and a strong understanding of corporate law and market terms.
- Substantial experience drafting transaction documents and managing deal processes effectively.
- Strong M&A and/or private equity background; prior asset manager M&A or GP stakes experience is a plus but is not required.
- Ability to take on significant responsibility, work with autonomy and manage matters with limited supervision.
- Driven, business development-oriented approach and interest in building relationships with clients.
- Juris Doctor and admission to practice in the applicable jurisdiction.

Compensation & Benefits
The stated annual compensation range is $310,000–$435,000, depending on qualifications and operational considerations; benefits include health care, retirement benefits, paid time off, parental leave, basic life insurance and Flexible Spending Accounts, along with discretionary, performance-based bonuses.
