Our client is seeking an associate to join its Appellate and Constitutional Law team in San Francisco. The position is open to candidates with 1–7 years of experience and offers substantive work on complex appellate litigation, including brief writing, dispositive motions, legal research, and appellate strategy.
The Work
- Work on complex appellate litigation, contributing to the preparation and development of matters before appellate courts.
- Draft appellate briefs that present clear, persuasive arguments and address complex legal questions.
- Prepare dispositive motions in litigation, developing the legal analysis and written advocacy supporting the requested relief.
- Conduct sophisticated legal research to inform briefing, motion practice, and case analysis.
- Contribute to appellate strategy in coordination with the Appellate and Constitutional Law team.
What You Bring
- Candidates should have 1–7 years of experience; the search includes law school class years 2019 through 2025.
- Experience with complex appellate litigation is sought.
- Demonstrated ability to draft appellate briefs is required.
- Experience drafting dispositive motions is relevant to the work.
- Ability to conduct sophisticated legal research and develop appellate strategy is expected.
- Exceptional legal writing, analytical, and advocacy skills are required.
- Prior appellate clerkship experience is strongly preferred.

Compensation & Benefits
The stated annual compensation range is $225,000–$420,000, with the salary offered dependent on qualifications and operational considerations.
