Position overview

Our client is seeking an associate with at least two years of debt finance experience to join a Redwood City growth debt practice. The team advises lenders and borrowers, primarily in the life sciences and technology sectors, on financing matters involving secured and unsecured lending and private capital.

The Work

  • Contribute to growth debt financings for lender and borrower clients, with exposure to the objectives of both sides of a transaction.
  • Work on secured and unsecured lending matters, including UCC secured transactions.
  • Support leveraged finance and private capital matters for clients in the life sciences and technology industries.
  • Gain experience across private credit structures, including first- and second-lien, unitranche, mezzanine, and asset-based loans.
  • Encounter other junior capital transactions, including preferred equity, through a practice that advises on a range of financing structures.
  • Collaborate across a private capital platform serving clients in both private credit and syndicated markets.

What You Bring

  • At least two years of debt finance experience; candidates with approximately two to four years are sought.
  • Experience with secured and unsecured lending transactions.
  • Familiarity with UCC secured transactions.
  • Experience or familiarity with leveraged finance and private capital.
  • Ability to contribute to financing matters involving lender and borrower clients.
  • Interest or experience in matters serving life sciences and technology clients.
