Position overview

Our client is seeking an associate with 3-6 years of experience to support its Corporate and Private Equity practice in San Francisco. The practice handles a broad range of private equity transactions and fund formation matters, including leveraged buyouts, investments by emerging sponsors, and acquisitions of troubled companies.

The Work

  • Support private equity transactions, including leveraged buyouts, independent sponsor transactions, rollups, and going-private transactions.
  • Work on minority and junior capital investments as part of a practice covering a range of private equity investment structures.
  • Contribute to matters involving purchases of troubled companies, including acquisitions made in or out of bankruptcy.
  • Support the formation of private equity, growth equity, venture capital, mezzanine, and real estate funds.
  • Work with a team that represents emerging managers and other general partners, as well as significant limited partners.
  • Engage with a corporate and private equity department of more than 90 attorneys across a range of transaction types.

What You Bring

  • Three to six years of experience in a legal associate role relevant to acquisition finance or private equity transactions.
  • Experience or demonstrated interest in leveraged buyouts and other private equity transactions.
  • Familiarity with transaction structures such as independent sponsor deals, rollups, minority investments, or junior capital investments.
  • Interest or experience in fund formation involving private equity, growth equity, venture capital, mezzanine, or real estate funds.
  • Ability to contribute to matters involving acquisitions of troubled companies, including transactions in or out of bankruptcy.
  • Interest in working with general partners, emerging managers, and limited partners.

The stated salary range is $260,000-$365,000.
