Position overview

Our client is seeking an experienced associate to help guide complex domestic and cross-border transactions through antitrust review. This role offers substantial involvement in merger control matters, close coordination with clients and deal teams, and exposure to reviews across major global jurisdictions.

The Work

  • Manage significant aspects of merger review for complex domestic and cross-border transactions, from preparing regulatory filings through agency investigation and resolution.
  • Advise on HSR filings and support the preparation and management of Second Requests, including related document productions.
  • Work on merger investigations and coordinate responses to agency inquiries with clients, economists, and transaction teams.
  • Support proceedings before the European Commission and EU Member State authorities, including Phase II reviews.
  • Coordinate across jurisdictions and with multidisciplinary teams to help clients navigate regulatory timelines and merger clearance requirements.
  • Engage directly with clients and deal teams on the practical demands of antitrust review in significant transactions.

What You Bring

  • At least four years of legal experience, with substantial experience in merger control.
  • Experience handling HSR filings, Second Requests, and merger investigations.
  • Ability to manage significant aspects of antitrust review for complex domestic and cross-border transactions.
  • Experience preparing or coordinating regulatory filings and document productions.
  • Strong coordination skills, including the ability to work effectively with clients, economists, and deal teams.
  • Familiarity with merger review proceedings before U.S. agencies and, ideally, European Commission or EU Member State authorities.
