Our client is seeking an associate with at least four years of experience to join its Washington, D.C. antitrust and competition team. The role centers on merger control for complex domestic and cross-border transactions, including HSR filings, Second Requests, and merger investigations.
The Work
- Manage significant aspects of antitrust reviews for complex domestic and cross-border transactions, helping guide matters through agency processes.
- Prepare and coordinate regulatory filings, including submissions under the Hart-Scott-Rodino Act, in connection with mergers and other transactions.
- Manage Second Request processes, including organizing and overseeing document productions and coordinating responses to agency inquiries.
- Support merger investigations by working with clients and deal teams to assess and address agency concerns as reviews develop.
- Coordinate with economists, clients, and transaction teams to advance reviews and keep regulatory work aligned with deal objectives.
- Contribute to proceedings involving U.S. agencies and competition authorities in other jurisdictions, including Phase II reviews before European authorities.
What You Bring
- At least four years of legal experience, with substantial experience in merger control.
- Experience preparing and managing HSR filings and Second Requests.
- Experience working on merger investigations and agency review processes.
- Ability to manage material components of complex domestic and cross-border reviews, including regulatory filings and document productions.
- Strong coordination skills and the ability to work effectively with clients, economists, and deal teams.
